About wax play
Wax play can be a sexual, sensual and meditative way to explore your own or your partner's body. Different color combinations make sensory play an art therapy, a creative game where you can turn your partner's body into a work of art.
Skin is the largest sensory organ and with the help of warm wax you can stimulate the nerve endings, make it more sensitive and fully focus on the body sensations. It helps to feel and understand our bodies more, relax our thoughts, get in a sensual mood and helps to connect with ourselves and our partner.
The candle also works as a communication tool between you and your partner – pay attention to what is happening with you, your partner and their body. It's important to observe their reactions and depending on them you can make the wax play more intense or gentle.
First, get your partner's consent to try wax play. Then ask which parts of the body you can use the wax on. If necessary, do an allergy test – pour a few drops on the skin and wait 24 hours to see if any irritation occurs.
Second, tidy up the room, put flammable objects away from the play area. Prepare a plate or a tray for the candles. To avoid damaging furniture and bedding, spread a vinyl sheet, a cloth or cling film over the play area, it will also be easier to clean up. Do not apply creams, oils or any beauty products on the skin before playing, as unexpected reactions or burns may occur.
Initially, the wax is poured by holding the candle away from the body so that the drops of melted wax cool as they fall and the person does not feel a sudden sensation of heat. Watch your partner's reaction, communicate with each other and depending on the feedback, continue from the same height or by moving the candle closer. Wax gets hot if it accumulates near the flame but if you let it drip, it will feel pleasantly warm on the body.
Lastly, stroke your partner's body when you are done with the wax play allowing them to gradually return from the sensual journey. Explore the possible sensations by removing the wax layer – do it by gently scratching it off or continue with the preferred intensity to your partners liking.
